Phillip commenced his legal career in 2004 as an Associate in the Federal Court to the Honourable Justice French, who would later become the Chief Justice of the High Court of Australia. He went on to work in two national law firms in Perth before joining Hotchkin Hanly, and became a partner in 2014.
Phillip practises primarily in litigation and dispute resolution, bringing a deep understanding of court processes and judicial decision-making developed through his early career associating at the highest levels of the Australian judiciary.
